135 DAYS MAINLY WHEAT FREE - 6 DAYS OUT OF 31, EXERCISE

Our youngest son is busy helping his friend get his car ready for the Irishman's Vintage Car Rally on Queen's Birthday Weekend, June 2nd-4th. These photos were taken a few years ago when we stayed in the South Island so John could go with his sons. This rally is notorious for bad roads and bad weather. Wayne recently bought an old Land Rover and has to get it up to standard so he can be 'tail end Charlie,' the rescue vehicle to help those who break down or get bogged. His wife is very patient with him as his want list gets longer and longer. This Rally is one of the highlights of the year and the stories are many and varied. Most of the enthusiasts keep a rough car for this rally. It's not one you would want to take your pampered and highly polished car on as the roads are rugged and snow and mud are almost inevitable.

Reporting Back ..............

Still reading. 350 pages to go. We have a thunder storm rolling around and right now the rain on the roof is deafening. We have an early start tomorrow to get to Thames hospital before 10.45 am for my brain scan.

HOW DID I DO?

I am lazy. No exercise.

Breakfast:- Smoothie

Lunch:- Ham, tomato and onion 

Tea/Dinner:- Roast chicken, kumera, onion and broccoli

Snacks:- almonds

Drinks:- Water x 1
Flavoured teas x 3

Daily Goal:- 1.5 lt or 5-6 large cups *no*

Exercise:- Walk or Cross-trainer *no*

I aim to walk or cross-train 5 km or more each day this month plus....

I am going to do the stretching exercises in my Jenny Craig book. I did them many years ago and found them easily do-able for me. My goal is to eventually stretch every day.

I am getting fitter, stronger, improving my stamina and flexibility.
Has to be good. Right!

  4. Hoping the scan went well. Those photos are great.....made me remember those roads and places we saw on our South Island trip last year :)
